Frequently Asked Questions
The Safety Tow provides a much greater margin of safety than traditional safety chains. Oklahoma is the first State that has accepted The Safety Tow in lieu of safety chains. Senate bill #1009, Title 47, Section 12–405 passed in 1998 signed by Frank Keating, Gov. of Oklahoma.
The Safety Tow provides a much safer hitching system, reducing the risk of bodily injury or accidental death for both the customer and others on the highway. Our coupler greatly reduces the risk of the trailer separating from the ball, even if coupler latching mechanism fails or operator fails to latch coupler.
The Safety Tow serves as a theft deterrent whether your trailer is coupled or uncoupled.

Installation
It attaches just beneath the trailer coupler. For hitching/unhitching, a spring-loaded handle is pulled out from the left side of the trailer, allowing a metal plate to pivot down so the coupler can be lifted on/off the ball. VIDEO: INSTRUCTIONS AND RECOMMENDED GUIDELINES
The Safety Tow has no loose parts, a spring-loaded pin allows lower plate to drop down. After coupler is latched on ball, floor plate is easily pulled back up and stamps into place under shank of ball. Should the coupler try to lift off the ball shank for any reason, the plate contacts the ball shank and prevents the coupler from ever lifting high enough to clear the ball.
We also provide an A-Frame Adapter that comes predrilled for easy installation and creates an ultra-secure connection between The Safety Tow device and your trailer frame.
(For best results use a welded connection by a certified welder.)
